We are an Elder Led Church

We do not have what most churches call a formal 'pastor'. The Scriptures clearly indicate that elders should be appointed to every church. It is their job to teach, lead and protect the flock. We believe this model demonstrates unity to the church in decision making, work load and direction, and better utilizes church resources, as the elder is an unpaid position. It also helps minimize one person being in charge of all things in the church and the dependency of the body to that person.

We practice participation

We practice worship, we don't experience it. It is about what you give in worship, not what you get. It is a dysfunctional view of church and worship to hear someone say, "I didn't get much out of church today."

Worship comes from the body, not the stage or pulpit.

Singing is about lifting up our voices, regardless of how it sounds, and not listening to the band play.
It is the honor and joy of reading the Scriptures and proclaiming God's Word to our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Adding your voice aloud to the praises and petitions in prayer.
It is more than a presentation, teaching requires interaction.
Adding to the teaching by comments and asking questions to clarify.

And it is not only about participation on Sunday morning, but also in each other's lives.

We believe in small churches

The measurement of the success of a church is not measured in the attendance, building size, staff or budget. A church should be a family, we are bound together by the sacrifice of Christ. Worship and body life should be an intimate and personal experience - not defined by programs and someone in coordinating a ministry. Imagine being in a family where you don't know your brother's name and how his life is going? That is not how church should work

Scripture is central to worship

Hearing God's Word should always be more important than talking about it.

We spend a significant time in our worship reading the Scriptures - not verses or paragraphs, but chapters. They are the words of life!

We believe in theopneustos - the Scriptures are God-breathed, His very words
We believe in Sola Scriptura, that the Scriptures alone define our life and practices.
We believe in Tota Scriptura - the entirety of the Scriptures are true and need to be followed
